How to quickly analyze whether the cooling layout in mold design is reasonable and whether the number of water lines is sufficient.

 UGNX:

Analysis--->Deviation---->Gauge

Gauge command interface as the image below.



1rt step select the cooling channel surfaces .

2nd step select the surfaces of part from cavity side or core side.

3rd step input the distance 

(Typically, what distance is appropriate? For small and medium-sized molds: set the maximum distance to three times the cooling channel diameter; for large molds: set the maximum distance to five times the cooling channel diameter.)

4th step click the apply.

please see the analysis result below.

Blue lines indicate that the distance from the cooling channel to the product surface is less than the set distance.


The yellow area indicates that the distance to the cooling channel exceeds the set limit. In such cases, we can adjust the spacing of the cooling channel or increase the cooling time. This method is much faster than mold flow analysis and also very intuitive.
